Actors' Equity Association is the labor union representing over 40,000 American actors and stage managers working in the professional theatre. The site provides information for union members, news, (casting notices) events, links to related sites, and membership services. Within the Actor's Equity Web page a wonderful career resource is the "Casting Call" section. Although primarily for the Equity actor the section provides job openings for actors and stage managers. Here students can obtain current information about job openings in their area or anywhere in the country. Search categories include "types of notice" (Equity principal, Equity chorus, non-required principal, non-required chorus, or stage manager). Other categories include "state" or "by contract." This is a good primer for the actor looking for job opportunities.
