The Ben & Jerry's Foundation doesn't prioritize any particular issue area for funding, they do focus on the types of activities and strategies an organization uses for creating social change in any number of areas. Hewlett Foundation http://www.hewlett.org The Hewlett Foundation is a private foundation whose performing arts grant program entertains applications from professional dance, music, opera/musical theater, and theater companies, as well as organizations that present the performing arts. The Foundation also supports arts councils that serve San Francisco Bay Area communities, and service organizations that assist performing arts organizations in all disciplines. The program's geographic focus is the San Francisco Bay Area, however, national grants have been awarded in the past two years. There is a list of grant awards with links available on the site.

A new online resource of Federal funding available for the arts is easy to find, and applications and grant forms for professional and educational organizations as well as individual artists can be downloaded from the site.

This area includes information on grants to institutions made available from the Higher Education Programs office and grants to foster innovation through the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education. Comprehensive information for students about federal aid at the Office of Student Financial Assistance Programs is also available. This includes scholarships and education tax credits.

Arts grants from Target must be family oriented and make arts more accessible and affordable for the family. Program Associates raise funds with a local nonprofit organization at their stores. Wal-Mart and SAM'S match a portion of the funds raised. Organizations qualifying for the Matching Grant Program are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or organizations that are exempt from needing 501(c)(3) status, such as public schools, churches, and government agencies. Grants are awarded locally through the retail store as part of their Good Works Program.
